La Voz de Almería echoes the 2020-2030 Argar Plan with the publication “Our Heritage, Our Destiny”, which reaffirms Antas as the cradle of the Argaric culture, a civilization that marked the beginning of the Bronze Age in the Iberian Peninsula and established the basis of the first state architecture in Western Europe, coexisting with the civilizations of Mesopotamia and Egypt.
A plan in keeping with our history
The 2020-2030 Argar Plan is a project that includes:
– The excavation of the El Argar site, considered one of the largest prehistoric assets in Spain.
– The construction of the Argaric Culture Interpretation Center, designed to offer an immersive experience to the visitor.
– The Argaric Houses, a faithful recreation of the architecture and urban planning of the time.
These initiatives not only protect our heritage, but also project it as an engine for cultural, tourism and economic development.
Culture, tourism and local progress
As highlighted by La Voz de Almería, Argaric heritage is understood as a form of capital that drives local progress, fosters community identity and generates economic opportunities. Activities such as historical recreation workshops, archaeological events and the International Symposium of El Argar (2022) have strengthened our connection with the past and our projection into the future.
Projection towards international recognition
With actions such as archaeological research grants and the future celebration of the I International Seminar of Young Researchers in Prehistory and Archaeology (2025), Antas is moving towards the recognition of the Argaric culture as World Heritage, demonstrating that this legacy belongs not only to our community, but to all humanity.
