Atapuerca y El Argar fortalecen vínculos

Atapuerca and El Argar strengthen ties

This week, a delegation from our municipality, led by the mayor, visited Atapuerca (Burgos), a project that was awarded the Prince of Asturias Award and is a world reference in the management of the Atapuerca Sierra de Atapuerca sites.

The representatives of Antas visited the Museum of Human Evolution, where they met with the director, Aurora Martín. Then, they went to the Atapuerca Foundation and the archaeological site, accompanied by the co-director of the project Eduald Carbonell and the director of the Foundation, Eva Manrique, with whom they had a very interesting meeting.

We thank our hosts for discussing the PLAN ARGAR 2020-2030 model and its management through the El Argar Foundation, as well as for sharing with us the keys to the successful Atapuerca model. We also thank them for their willingness to collaborate in the development of both projects.

The Antas delegation had the opportunity to learn about the outstanding work of the Caja Burgos Foundation, directed by Rafael Barbero and chaired by Gines Clemente, who coordinated all the visits.

We express our deep gratitude to the Atapuerca Foundation and the Caja de Burgos Foundation for opening their doors to us, sharing their experience with our municipality and offering us their support in the development of our project to enhance the value of El Argar.
