Approval of the 2025 Municipal Budget

The Plenary of the City Council of Antas has approved with a vote in favor of the socialist group the Municipal Budget for the year 2025, amounting to 5,056,736.68 euros, marking a historic increase of half a million euros over the previous year. This budget reinforces the commitment of the government team, led by Mayor Pedro Ridao, with an efficient, responsible and development-oriented management and welfare of the municipality.

Historical investment and strategic priorities

The 2025 budget represents an unprecedented investment for Antas, allocating more than 40% of the total to the improvement of public spaces, municipal services and citizen welfare, with an item that exceeds 2,125,000 euros.

The main actions include:

  • Public infrastructure and street furniture:
    • An investment of 887,614.72 euros for the improvement of infrastructures, street furniture and the enhancement of the Argaric cultural heritage.
    • 207,000 euros for the change of sewage networks in several streets of the municipality.
  • Construction of a new sports pavilion:
    • A municipal contribution of 375,000 euros to ensure participation in the Pavilion Plan of the Diputación de Almería. This ambitious project, valued at more than 2.5 million euros, is one of the most important demands of the residents of Antas.

Economic stimulus and fiscal sustainability

The government team has managed to freeze municipal taxes for another year, ensuring that residents do not see their tax burden increase. This achievement is accompanied by a higher revenue forecast, thanks to:

  • The attraction of new companies and strategic projects, such as the installation of a rural hotel and a macro photovoltaic plant.
  • The increase in the collection of taxes such as ICIO and urban planning fees, reflecting the economic dynamism of the municipality.

Mayor Pedro Ridao emphasized:

“These revenues are no coincidence, but the result of rigorous work, the search for investments that benefit our people and a management that prioritizes sustainable growth and financial stability.”

Local commerce, tourism and cultural heritage

The 2025 budget includes a new item for the promotion of local commerce, recognizing the daily efforts of the self-employed. It also doubles the investment in cultural heritage, consolidating initiatives to attract tourism and boost the local economy.

The enhancement of the archaeological sites and the “Argar” culture Interpretation Center are strategic pillars to reinforce the cultural and tourist identity of the municipality.

Debt reduction and financial stability

The City Council will allocate 120,000 euros to reduce the municipal debt generated as a result of the Spancrete judgment, moving towards a more solvent and stable administration.

The mayor concluded:

“This budget is not just a set of numbers; it is a roadmap that shows that Antas is on the move. We are committed to our neighbors, to their quality of life and to building a better future for everyone.”

With these budgets, Antas starts 2025 with strength, consolidating strategic projects and positioning itself as a reference in responsible management and vision of the future.
