The first news we have about the festivity of San Roque, so far, dates back to 1907. At that time the activities that took place were fireworks and the performance of the music band.
In 1908, however, we only have news of fireworks. While in 1909 there was no celebration
In 1910 the celebration of San Roque was based on fireworks, music band and refreshments at the Town Hall. In 1911 the celebration in honor of San Roque was held on August 15 and 16. The expenses were the following: Band of music of Vera (160 pts), fireworks for the night of San Roque (250 pts) and refreshments (sweets, liquors, tobaccos) to the guests to the religious function (24,25 pts); the total amount was 434,25 pts. An important amount if we take into account that a day’s work for a bracero was paid at 2,00- 2,50 pts.
