The Argaric Settlement of Antas is a recreation of the dwellings of the El Argar culture that offers a glimpse into what the houses and daily life of these Bronze Age communities were like more than 4,000 years ago. The tour recreates various aspects of their daily lives, such as burial sites and grinding workshops.
The Reconstruction of Argar
Every August, the town comes alive with the Argar Reenactment, a day of historical reenactment that brings the way of life of the Argaric culture back to life. This year, it will be held on August 8.

How can I visit the Argaric settlement?
Visits to the Argárico Settlement require a prior reservation and are led by a guide. It is also part of the joint guided tour with CICA.

Joint Guided Tours (Summer 2026)
The guided tour combines a visit to the CICA and the Argárico Settlement for €5, and is offered in two formats:
Argárica Afternoon (in Spanish)
- Every Tuesday in July, August, and September
- CICA at 6:30 p.m. and Poblado Argárico at 8:00 p.m.
Argaric Morning (in English)
- Selected Saturdays: July 4 and 18, and August 1, 15, and 29
- Argaric Settlement at 9:30 a.m. and CICA at 11:00 a.m.

The Town Council of Antas has received a grant from the European Union and the Junta de Andalucía, under the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, in collaboration with the Rural Development Group of Levante Almeriense and Almanzora, for the “RECREATION OF AN ARGARIC VILLAGE IN THE ENVIRONMENT OF EL ARGAR” with the objectives of recreating various archaeological sites related to the disappeared culture of El Argar to expand the supply of cultural facilities, improve the socio-economic environment and contribute to the conservation and dissemination of the Cultural Heritage of the municipality.
