“Andrea”, Endesa’s new solar plant has permission to be installed in Antas.

The project for Endesa’s new “Andrea” solar plant continues to move forward. The proceedings carried out to adapt the General Urban Development Plan of the municipality approved in 2009 to the current land management plans, and specifically to the Andalusian Land Management Plan (POTA) and the Land Management Plan of Levante de Almería (POTLA), have achieved the approval of this request by the Territorial Commission for Land Management and Urban Planning of the Andalusian Regional Government.

Through Endesa’s renewable subsidiary Enel Green Power España, the Environmental Impact Statement was approved in November 2022 and the Preliminary Administrative Authorization in April 2023.

This solar plant, called ‘Andrea’, will have 250 MW , which will prevent the emission of around 16,200 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere per year and will represent an investment of 106 million euros in the municipality. It is estimated that it will leave a total of around 40 million euros in the municipal coffers.

The development of this solar plant will generate a favorable socioeconomic impact for our municipality, since it will prioritize local labor and the hiring of services from the municipality. To this end, Endesa, in collaboration with the City Council, will conduct training courses on the installation of photovoltaic panels and the operation and maintenance of renewable energy plants.
