To mark the 90th anniversary of the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War, we would like to share an article by the Official Chronicler of Antas, Luis Artero Ridao, titled “Antonio Ridao Ortega (Antonio Garrido) 1931–1939. “
This work aims to highlight the greatness of the citizens of Antas during this tragic period in history, since, through harmony, respect, and tolerance, they were able to overcome their ideological differences, and there was no bloodshed between the two sides, thanks to the effective leadership of the various municipal bodies (both left-wing and right-wing), led by Mayor Antonio Ridao Ortega, “Antonio Garrido, ” who was admired by the left and respected by the right.
