Parties and leisure

Antas is a town with traditions and festivities whose origin is mostly of religious character.

Patron saint's day

The patron saint festivities in honor of San Roque are held on August 15 and 16, coinciding with the feast of the Assumption. The festive program includes masses in honor of the Virgin and the saint, popular festivities and dances.

Feast in honor of the Virgen de la Cabeza

The festivities in honor of the Virgen de la Cabeza usually take place around September 8. The pilgrimage is the beginning of this celebration and for years has been held the weekend before the rest of the days that make up the festival.

Carnival

Carnival is celebrated every year in February.

The old

The day of the Vieja is celebrated in the municipality on the day of the beginning of Lent. In this celebration, which was originally of a religious nature, a colorful paper doll is made, with a cap and apron, which is filled with sweets. The doll is held by reeds in the shape of a cross, and is hit with stones that are thrown until it breaks and releases the candies inside.
